About
Twenty nine things, and the numbers to go with them
SALVARO sells baking equipment: bowls, whisks, pins, bannetons, tins, moulds, sheets and the tools you finish a cake with. Twenty nine items, because that is a complete kitchen and the thirtieth would be there to pad the list out.
Why the range is small
Most bakeware shops sell several hundred items, and the depth is the problem rather than the point. Nine loaf tins are not nine choices, they are one choice made difficult. We looked at what a person actually reaches for between opening a recipe and taking something out of the oven, and bought the best version of each thing, once.
What that leaves is four ranges. Mixing and measuring, rolling and shaping, tins and moulds, baking and finishing. Each one is a complete set. You can buy a single piece to replace something that finally wore out, or a range at a time and have a kitchen that works.
The number that is never printed
A 20 cm cake tin is not a 20 cm cake tin. Some are measured across the base and some across the rim, and the difference between them is about 200 ml of batter, which is the difference between a cake that rises level and one that goes over the side. Nobody prints the number that actually matters.
We do. Every tin on this site states its interior dimensions and the batter capacity in millilitres, so you can check a recipe against a tin before you mix anything. The same principle runs through the rest:
| Material | What it is made of, and specifically what touches the food. Not “metal”, but hard anodised aluminium, tinned copper or carbon steel with a non stick coating |
|---|---|
| Capacity | In millilitres and fluid ounces. Batter capacity for tins, dough weight for bannetons, volume for bowls |
| Dimensions | Interior, not exterior, on anything you put a mixture into |
| Weight | Empty, on our own scale. Weight is how a rolling pin behaves and it is the spec most often left out |
Where a field is missing it is because it does not apply, not because we did not measure it.
How we pack
We hold stock in a small warehouse in the United States and pack every order ourselves. Bannetons and copper moulds are wrapped individually, tins go into moulded pulp, and the voids are filled with kraft paper rather than foam. Orders placed before 2pm Mountain Time are dispatched the next business day, and shipping is free on every order with no minimum.

What we will not do
- We do not run permanent sales. The price on the product page is the price, and it does not double the week before a discount.
- We do not pay for reviews and we do not remove the unflattering ones.
- We do not sell your details. Our privacy policy says so in plain terms and the list of who we share data with is four lines long.
- We do not stock anything with a motor in it. Stand mixers, food processors and bread machines are somebody else’s business.
Starting from nothing?
Email us and say what you want to bake. We will tell you which five or six pieces to buy first, which is usually a bowl set, a whisk, a scale of measures, a pin and one tin, and we will tell you which of the expensive things you do not need yet. The copper canele moulds are wonderful and almost nobody should buy them first.
Still need us?
Email contact@salvaroshop.com and we answer within one business day.
